In Phase 1 our young pupils will embark on their educational journey. This first phase includes nursery class pupils up to year 4 and our priority is to ensure that they all feel safe and happy at school. Our aim is to ensure that all pupils have a flying start, not only in developing their literacy and numeracy skills but also in developing vital skills and values for the future such as working together, persevering, questioning, developing curiosity and being ready to take risks. We will emphasize a growth mindset from the outset and nurture the pupils to believe that hard work and effort is what leads to success, and to realise that making mistakes is an important part of learning.Within our termly themes we will provide pupils with a variety of opportunities and experiences including learning outdoors and building strong links with the community. We will provide pupils with various opportunities to develop their confidence such as residential courses, inviting visitors to classes and visiting places of interest, supporting eisteddfodau and local activities and participating in all kinds of sporting activities.Mrs Sara MorrisHead of Phase 1
